My Favourite Writer..❤
In my free time I like to read books as a habit. Reading books relaxes my mind and gives me new knowledge. 😊
So I have been in the habit of reading books since I was ten years old. I have gained a lot of knowledge because of books. One of the best novelists I met while reading books was Martin Wickramasinghe.
In fact, he was the best novelist of my life. Mr. Martin Wickramasinghe was born in the Southern Province. I do not know because he is familiar with the province. I like to read his books.
At the age of five Wickramasinghe was taught the sinhala alphabet at home and in the village temple, by a monk, Andiris Gurunnanse. He also learned the Devanagari script and could recite by memory long sections of the hotopadesha..
After two years he was taken to a vernacular school where he prospered until 1897 when he was sent to an English school in galle Bonawista . In the two years spent at the school Wickramasinghe became fluent in English as well as Latin. When his father died in 1901, he returned to a vernacular school in Ahangangama.
In his life martin wikramasingha wrote many books... he can write nicely.. some of his books are heart.touching quikly... ❤
Martin wikramasingha's literary career began with the novel Leela in 1914 and an anthology of essays on literary criticism, Shastriya Lekhana in 1919.
Martin Wickramasinghe has written many novels. Among them are ,,lila, seetha, sooma,, ayirangani, miriguwa, wiragaya, rohii, yuganthaya, madolduwa, kaliyugaya and bhawatharanaya.
He also wrote a number of short stories based on his life:Among them billa saha apuuru muhuna, handa saakki kiima, magee kathaawa, apee withthi books are very interesting. ❤ In addition, Martin Wickramasinghe has written many critical essays. There are also several biological books written by him.
Martin Wickramasinghe is a man who has made a great contribution to the art of writing and art literature in Sri Lanka. Martin Wickramasinghe is still revered today for his dedication to the arts in Sri Lanka.
Koggala, where he still lives, has declared his house a museum. Anyone who visits the museum will have the opportunity to visit Madol Duwa. He passed away on 23rd of july 1976.when he was died he was 86 years old.
No one will ever be able to fill the void left by the death of Martin Wickramasinghe.
